10:00AM-Soccer: Japan OR Cameroon

The World Cup continues today with a matchup between two Group E teams that will be trying to compete for the second place and advance to the knockout round.  Assuming Holland finishes atop the group, there will be a battle for every point between three relatively equal teams, Cameroon, Japan, and Denmark.  This  game features two of those teams, Japan and Cameroon.  Every point counts here, and both teams will be desperate to start off with a win, but will settle for a draw as a loss will surely make advancing almost impossible.

StreakFacts:

  • Cameroon is 19th in the FIFA world rankings
  • Japan is 45th in the FIFA world rankings
  • Cameroon had 4 wins and a draw in 2009 World Cup Qualifiers
  • Japan went 1-1-1 in World Cup Qualifiers in 2009
  • Cameroon has +110 odds to win the match

Tonto picks Cameroon to win the match * * (2 out of 5 stars)

This could easily end in a draw with goals being at such a premier for this 2010 World Cup.  The fact that Cameroon will have the support of the home African crowd will prove to be somewhat overwhelming for the Japanese, who do not have as much experience communicating through the roar of Fafuzelas.
