8:10PM-MLB: HR hit OR No HR

The New York Yankees host the Philadelphia Phillies in this classic interleague rematch between the teams that competed for last year’s World Series.  Instead of any type of matchup picks, we get 3 props for this game.  The second prop in this game is whether a home run will be hit in innings 4 through 6 or not.  Jamie Moyer will be pitching against A.J. Burnett.  With 3 innings included in the prop, every hitter will hit at least once.

  • Yankees have hit 73 HRs in 64 games
  • At home, Yankees have hit 43 HRs in 30 games
  • Phillies have hit 56 HRs in 62 games
  • Away, Phillies have hit 20 HRs in 33 games
  • Burnett has given up 8 HRs in 13 games this year
  • At home, Burnett has given up 2 HRs in 5 games
  • Jamie Moyer has given up 11 HRs in 12 games
  • Away, Moyer has given up 8 HRs in 7 games
  • Yankee Stadium is notorious for home runs, 76 have been hit this year (stats here)
    • 9 in the 4th
    • 7 in the 5th
    • 11 in the 6th
    • 27 total have been hit in 4-6 innings
    • 11 have been hit by Yankees, 16 by opposing teams
    • 15 out of 30 home games have had a home run hit in 4-6 innings

Stig picks HR hit *  (1 out of 5)

Yankee Stadium is known as a launching pad, but with how bad the Phillies have been hitting as of late (only 1 HR in last 5 games), I think this prop depends heavily on the Yankees.  With a bad pitcher (Moyer) on the mound, you have to like the chances of the Yankees putting one out of the ballpark.  This is a total tossup though with an obscure prop, so I would not recommend putting a lengthy streak on this prop.
